It also makes crafting a lot easier, as it gives you 920 printable patterns in Design Space, or you can simply upload your own!
The Bad
While the Cricut Explore Air 2 – Mint gives a genuinely excellent performance overall, it does lack in a few aspects that the manufacturers can hopefully address. One such downside to this product is how it demands us to subscribe to its software for $10 a month, and that by ignoring this notice, you can no longer use the machine at its full service. Going online and chatting to customer support doesn’t help either as they only confirm that you need to pay the $10 so you can use all the features and services of this particular machine, so effectively, it’s useless unless you’re willing to pay more.
The machine also doesn’t come with software, and you’re not able to download any software into your machine, so you have to rely on their online software which is quite limiting. At the same time, it isn’t compatible with any 3rd party software, so you always have to be connected to the wifi if you want to get any design work done. This is also a problem whenever outside during travels because it doesn’t let you do any preparations ahead of time.
The Bottom Line
The Cricut Explore Air 2 – Mint gives us many hours of fun arts and crafts that is simply unmatched in the industry. However, it also comes with its downsides since it’s not compatible with any other software apart from its own, which is rendered useless unless you’re subscribed to it for an extra charge every month, which leads people to wonder if they’re taking more than they give. For a $277 machine, you would hope that you get a product that has everything you could need, even the software that it’s supposed to come with.
But with those problems aside and focusing entirely on performance, the Cricut Explore Air 2 – Mint has more than enough features to create anything and everything you could ever need for your home decor, scrapbooking, arts and crafts, gift making and other DIY needs. It is jam-packed with so much that we can’t tell if they missed out on anything, because there are just thousands of things it can do, so the possibilities are endless! If you’re willing to go through the monthly payments, then you’re in for a treat with the Cricut Explore Air 2 – Mint.
