Versatility and Precision:
The DEWALT 20V MAX XR Impact Driver Kit features a Dewalt built brushless motor and has 3-speed settings for optimized application. It also comes with Precision Drive in speed 1 for precise applications and added control. It also uses three LED lights with a 20-second delay after trigger release to provide visibility without shadows.

It also allows for one-handed loading, thanks to the ¼” hex chuck with an easy-grip sleeve and works with 1″ bit tips. The DEWALT 20V MAX XR Impact Driver Kit has a compact and lightweight design to fit into tight areas, as it is 2mm shorter than the precious DCF886 model.
The Bad
While Dewalt may be a world-renowned brand, this unit has a few flaws that take away from their reputation. One such flaw is how it shuts off while driving screws, which isn’t even hard to do — driving basic 3-inch screws and only going halfway before it turns on and off. At this point, nothing has been finished, and it looks as though nothing will ever be finished.
Another customer complained about how he may have received a defective unit, as he needs to bang the top of the Drill every time he needs to screw something in. Unfortunately for this customer, this tool kept shorting out as though it has loose wiring inside and was upset that the return window closed before he could return it.
The Bottom Line
In the end, the DEWALT 20V MAX XR Impact Driver Kit is an excellent product to add to any home renovator or professional worker’s toolbox. It not only makes the job faster, lighter, and overall a better experience for the user, but it also makes the work a much more efficient process. The problems reported are also very few and limited, so we won’t have to worry so much about getting a defective unit and getting one that turns itself off.
And while the DEWALT 20V MAX XR Impact Driver Kit is not a perfect product, it is still one of the best impact drivers in the market now. Its multiple features such as its 3-speed settings, LED lights, and its compact and lightweight design make it an excellent choice for all your DIY housework. Even with its weak battery and defective unit issues, this is still a useful and powerful tool to get everything you need done.
