It also specializes in getting between chairs as well as under beds and sofas for a thorough cleaning. It is equipped with intelligent mapping, allowing the user to watch it get the job done and be impressed by its ability to map entire rooms for cleaning. The Dibea D500 Robot Vacuum uses triple filters (washable Pre-filter/Sponge/ High-efficiency filter), and side brushes that will do an excellent job of cleaning your home. It’s also reasonably compact (2.91inch super thin), so they won’t take up much space in your storage closet. And It’s able to travel underneath most couches, tables, and beds, so you don’t have to rearrange the furniture.
Advanced Features: With two large wheels, the Dibea D500 can glide across from hard floor to low-pile carpet or ride over door trims to realize smooth cleaning — note the max climbing height of 15mm. A large dustbin design enables it to hold onto more dirt and dust, as well as vacuum more without needing to frequently empty the dust bin. Just be sure when moving the machine, to remove the water tank and keep the machine horizontal, and to remove the water tank when the device is not used. It is best to discharge all the water in the tank. You can also set schedules for the Dibea D500 robot vacuum to wake up and start a cleaning job so that it can begin working while you’re out of the house.
Product Maintenance: To keep your Dibea D500 robotic vacuum cleaner at optimal performance, it is best to clean it regularly and always keep the vacuum robot charged in the home base when not in use. Please empty the dustbin after every use and wash the filter frequently. (It is better to change the Hepa filters every three months.) Make sure the power switch is ON before using or charging. Place the charging base in an open, uncluttered area against the wall. The charging base should be in a flat position on the hard floor to keep it stable. When moving the machine, remove the water tank and keep the machine horizontal — please remove the water tank when the device is not used, and discharge all the water in the tank. It is important NOT to use the robot to clean water, glass, or crushed tiles.
The Bad
The Dibea D500 offers up some of the best features to look forward to in a mid-range robot vacuum. However, it also has some problems that prevent it from taking out first place in our list of the best robovacs available in the market. As reported by a few users, this unit doesn’t work as expected and has difficulty navigating around obstructions. It will sometimes turn 200 degrees around and cleans in the other direction. Even when cleaning an obstruction-free hallway, it doesn’t pick up dust and debris along edges even after four attempts. It’s also reported to have difficulty maneuvering in crowded areas, as it has trouble finding its dock, which is only two feet away. Once it bumps into a chair leg, it will turn around and go the other way until it hits something else. Perhaps there are problems with the algorithm for navigation associated with this particular behavior.
Other complaints from consumers involve the apparent lack of care from customer service and the manufacturers of the vacuum. One user suffered through the experience of having someone’s used D500 unit delivered to their door as a brand new unit. Unfortunately, when the new owner happily opened her package, she was shocked to find out that the vacuum had already been used to collect dust and debris and had to empty it herself. To make things worse, she was only able to use it for two months before it died. When trying to contact the manufacturer, she never got a response and had given up trying to get it fixed. It’s safe to say that this person doesn’t recommend this product.
The Bottom Line
In the end, the Dibea D500 Robotic Vacuum Cleaner has many highlights to offer but also suffers from a few flaws in its system and its customer service. However, we still believe this model is still an excellent contender as one of the best mid-range robot vacuums. It comes with a variety of standard features that you can find in many of today’s robovacs and more than the usual mid-range robovac. Its many cleaning modes allow you to decide when you want your home cleaned and how to do it.
While the D500 may not have an app linked to it, this doesn’t stop it from being a great vacuum and mopping device. From its hefty battery capacity to its HEPA filters that promote a healthy environment, this robovac has everything you could need, all at an affordable price. Overall, the Dibea D500 Robotic Vacuum Cleaner is still one of the best and most affordable vacuums out in the market right now. Despite its shortcomings, we can’t ignore how much value has been put into one device that can not only clean floors, but also tiles, carpets, and other surfaces. I bought the D500 December 2019 after 2 months one brush would not turn.I emailed emailed Dibea about the problem & told them Amazon had a 30 day return policy & would not refund or replace the unit. Dibea responded asked for a copy of the purchase & a video if possible [which i tried but could not send from a phone to email , i`m not super techy].Dibea responded & is sending a new one.That`s customer service! The vacuum does a great job on pet hair, crumbs , & etc.
