It also helps to increase your Wi-Fi speed up to 300Mbps so that you can do more, even faster.
Universal Compatibility:
It works with any wireless router, gateway, or cable modem with WiFi. Also, the NETGEAR WiFi Range Extender EX2700 has a wired ethernet port so that you can plug in game consoles streaming players or other nearby wired devices using the one 10/100M port for maximum speed.
Safe, Secure, and Simple:
The NETGEAR WiFi Range Extender EX2700 supports WEP and WPA/WPA2 wireless security protocols so you can set up password protection. It is also simple to set up, press the WPS button to connect to your router, and use the NETGEAR WiFi Analyzer app for optimal location.
The Bad
While the NETGEAR WiFi Range Extender EX2700 lives up to our expectations and delivers on all its promises, it’s sad to say that it isn’t perfect. Unfortunately for one customer, the device almost turned into a fire hazard when he noticed a burning smell coming from the unit. It then started to burn up and melt down slowly but saw no possible cause for it to do so. And because the plug it occupied never had problems before, this customer was quite alarmed, to say the least.
Another problem encountered with this model is how the 2.4 and 5.0 lights fail to turn on. And a conversation with NetGear’s chat support didn’t help either as their best solution was to send in the same model with the same issues. When the customer decided to call customer support, he was told after an hour and a half on the phone that the company had released defective units into the market. So, a fair warning: there is a chance that you’ll get one of these units,
The Bottom Line
The NETGEAR WiFi Range Extender EX2700 is an excellent product in almost every aspect. If only the company hadn’t overlooked their defective units, which they then released anyway, and if they were able to address some system issues, then it would no doubt be a perfect range extender. But again, let this be a warning: there might still be some of the defective batches out there, so there is a bit of risk in buying this model.
However, if you get yourself a unit that has none of the things mentioned above, then you have one of the best Wi-Fi extenders out now. Not only does it deliver a fantastic performance, but it also comes with an attractive price tag. All in all, the NETGEAR WiFi Range Extender EX2700 is the closest thing to come to a perfect Wi-Fi extender, so cross your fingers and hope you get one of the good ones.

Easy to install, just follow the instructions….if you can set up router then you can set up this range extender. Good product. I’m a 40 yr old call center representative and was able to set up in 5 mins. Not rocket science.

After trying to connect to my router several times without success I talked to their tech help. They could not help unless I purchased $200.00 of Norton virus software.
I returned it to the store and will not purchase this wifi extender and do not recommend it
