Founded in 1851, Singer has since been one of the world’s leading sellers of artisan and consumer sewing machines and is one of the world’s most trusted and recognizable brands. Through its long history of innovation, it has produced many breakthroughs and has presented us with the first portable machine, computer-controlled machine, and zigzag machines.
The SINGER Heavy Duty 4432 Sewing Machine has been equipped with a heavy-duty metal frame, powerful motor, stainless steel bedplate, and an ultra-high sewing speed, allowing it to sew through just about anything. Whether you’re making garment alterations or you want to start a project from scratch, this machine is versatile enough to bring your creative ideas to life.
Our review of the SINGER Heavy Duty 4432 Sewing Machine put this sewing machine through its paces. Let’s take a look at some of the best features of the SINGER Heavy Duty 4432 Sewing Machine…
Power With Durability:
The SINGER Heavy Duty 4432 Sewing Machine uses a metal frame to add stability and to provide long-lasting durability to give you a real sewing powerhouse. It also boasts a stainless steel bedplate, a powerful motor, and an ultra-high sewing speed so it can sew through a variety of heavyweight fabrics. Its motor is 60% stronger than standard sewing machines, provides greater piercing power and speeds of up to 1,100 stitches per minute, so you can make and create whatever you desire.
Features and Accessories:
This Free Arm sewing machine provides ease of use, giving us quick access to collars, cuffs, pant hems, and other difficult-to-reach areas. It also has adjustable presser foot pressure controls to handle lightweight sheers to canvas easily. The SINGER Heavy Duty 4432 Sewing Machine also has a variety of accessories included such as zipper foot, all-purpose foot, buttonhole foot, seam ripper, button sewing foot, needles, screwdriver, bobbins, spool pin, and auxiliary spool pin, which are all conveniently stored in the accessory tray.
More Than You Bargained For:
The SINGER Heavy Duty 4432 Sewing Machine has even more unique and useful features available at your disposal. Other convenient features include built-in needle threader, snap-on presser feet, adjustable stitch length, top drop-in bobbin, and three needle positions. Best of all, it also makes use of a reverse stitch function, so you can sew in reverse and reinforce stitches. With all of these creative features, this sewing machine allows you to create any project you can think of.
The SINGER Heavy Duty 4432 Sewing Machine has promising features but isn’t a perfect product. It has many errors in the system such as thread jams in the bobbin area, which causes the needle to lock in a single position. Unfortunately, this can occur at any time before a year passes, so perhaps the warranty that comes with it can help, although you shouldn’t count on it.
Another issue it suffers from is how the motor starts to malfunction after trying to stitch curtains which as reasonably lightweight, which conflicts with its claim to be able to stitch most fabrics. Unfortunately, for one customer, they had to learn the hard way that the warranty practically lasts only 90 days, as customer support explained that only electric parts are covered for two years, and will have to pay for labor and 2-way shipping since they have minimal service centers around the country.
In the end, the SINGER Heavy Duty 4432 Sewing Machine has many flaws, which the company tries to hide behind a false promise of a 2-year warranty. However, once a customer falls for the trap, they reveal it to not only be a lie, but they ultimately ask you to do the work they’re supposed to provide for us. And while this sewing machine shows a lot of potential, its features, and the company itself aren’t good enough to be recommended to other sewing enthusiasts.
That being said, if you get lucky enough to score a sewing machine that doesn’t have any of the flaws mentioned above or can last you a lifetime like it promises it would, then you may have just come upon a pot of gold. Should you encounter a correctly working unit of the SINGER Heavy Duty 4432, then you’ll get everything you ever wanted to get your sewing projects done. You might also have a sewing machine that would’ve been good enough to make it to the top of this year’s best of the best.
