Dashlane has locations in New York, Paris, and Lisbon and a team of experts that has a passion for online password security. Their team members diverse backgrounds give Dashlane an edge over other companies because they are versatile and adaptable to the changing digital world.

Dashlane Password Manager provides comprehensive password security with additional features like document storage, identity theft protection, Dark Web monitoring, and a comprehensive personal dashboard, all at some of the lowest prices you’ll find. That’s why we’ve made them our Editor’s Choice for password management.

Provided Protection

Dashlane has a variety of ways to protect your personal information online. You’ll be able to keep your sensitive data safe from hackers and still have easy access to it when needed. The following are some of our favorite Dashlane Password Manager features.

Secure Autofill: Easily and securely store information like usernames and passwords, personal information, and payment details with Dashlane. Then, use that information to autofill forms online. This means you don’t ever have to remember multiple passwords again. It saves you time when shopping or working and makes every part of your daily routine simple and safe.

Password Generator: Dashlane’s password generator is available to everyone. That’s right. Everyone. You don’t even need an account to generate a secure one-time password that contains a combination of letters, numbers, and symbols no one can guess. With a Dashlane account, you can generate passwords for all of your accounts and store them on your device.

2-Factor Authentication: A lot of apps use 2-factor authentication to secure your account. It requires you to enter a secure password and answer a security question or verify your identity from another device. This makes your accounts more secure. Dashlane uses 2FA to protect your account and if you enable it, you can keep your passwords and other information safe.

Emergency Contact Access: Dashlane allows you to designate emergency contacts in the event you need to share your information with friends or family. If you need to give account access to a friend or family member, Dashlane will share your information in the event of an emergency. You can also exchange account credentials without revealing passwords and revoke access at any time.

Pricing Plans

Dashlane offers a variety of password management pricing plans. To help you decide if it’s the right password manager for you, Dashlane offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.

The Good

As with all of our editor reviews, we put Dashlane through its paces, so you don’t have to waste your own time or money. Let’s take a look at some of our favorite Dashlane Password Manager service benefits…

Personal Protection

With password protection, secure sharing, and 2-factor authentication, your personal information is already secure with Dashlane. Upgrade to the Premium Plus Plan, and you also have access to Dark Web monitoring, $1 million of identity theft insurance, and identity restoration services in the event of an emergency. This goes above and beyond the functions of a normal password manager, making sure you’re safe online, no matter what.

Save Valuable Time

Dashlane can save you time in your daily routine with a variety of features. The autofill functionality allows you to visit the same websites over and over, without ever having to worry about remembering your passwords or payment info. You can streamline your daily routine and live stress-free knowing you don’t have to keep filling out the same details online.

Streamline Your Home

With secure sharing from Dashlane, you can give everyone in your home access to banking information, Wi-Fi passwords, or private notes. Everyone will be up-to-date on the most critical information when they need to do their homework or pay for school activities. You can also revoke access at any time if someone doesn’t do their chores.

Online Security Dashboard

The Dashlane Identity Dashboard gives you a complete view of your online security. You can see metrics and alerts in one place and understand how you can improve your security. It will notify you if an account has been compromised and make suggestions for how to update your information to protect yourself.

The Bad

One disadvantage we found when test driving Dashlane is that they don’t provide biometric authentication support. You can’t use your fingerprint or a retina scan to secure your accounts. However, they do offer 2-factor authentication, and on their Premium plans, they offer YubiKey support, which makes us feel much more secure.

We found that the application for Android isn’t as feature-rich as the iOS app. The Password Changer isn’t present at all. If you need to change a password on mobile, you can’t do it on Android. Dashlane does provide a password changer on iOS and online. If you do need to change your passwords, you still have access to do so anytime you need, and the feature will be available on Android shortly, according to the Dashlane team.

The Bottom Line

Dashlane offers a set of comprehensive features and services for people who want to store passwords, payment information, and documents securely. While the Free Plan is more restricted than we’d like, the Premium Plan is super-affordable and well worth it for all of the extra features.

Dashlane offers bigger and better benefits than other password managers, which is why we’ve made them our Editor’s Choice for online password management. And even their highest priced plans offer fantastic value, thanks to the addition of identity theft protection services.
