The stainless steel bowl along with other parts regularly bleed a gray-blue liquid into the dough when being used. Unfortunately, this is a significant setback, as it contaminates the food which will be served for people to eat, and is rendered completely useless. This is a big turn off for anyone wanting to bake their cakes, cookies, and pastries.
Another problem the unit seems to have is its loud screeching and grinding, which comes from the motor but doesn’t seem to function. Even going through the troubleshooting steps doesn’t help, so contacting KitchenAid naturally occurred as the next option. However, even they weren’t able to help and had asked for the unit to be returned at my expense to exchange it for another unit.
